I am a Dutch-Swiss dual citizen, married and mother of three adult children.
My formation: I have a doctorate (Ph.D.) in psychology (Ludwig Maximilian University of Munich), a diploma in Gestalt therapy (Institute for Integrative Gestalt Therapy Würzburg), I am an adult educator or andragogic teacher (Academy for Andragogy Lucerne) and a high school teacher (German and Philosophy at the Universities of Nijmegen and Utrecht).
I spent a total of 17 years in Latin America, which had a great impact on me. In Cusco (Peru) I lived and worked for 8 years in a slum; in La Paz (Bolivia) I worked for 9 years as a Gestalt therapist in freelance practice and as a lecturer at various universities. I did pioneer work by training local psychologists to become Gestalt therapists. In an environment of extreme poverty and latent violence, I experienced how vulnerable and at the same time strong the human psyche can be.
Since 2013 I have been working as a psychotherapist and coach in Switzerland, giving workshops and lecturing at symposia in Switzerland and abroad. Occasionally I write and publish on trauma work, interculturality and Gestalt therapy.
